Sorry things have been quiet on the blog this week. I’m working on several posts for the upcoming week. Some will be here and some will probably be on the YS Blog. Next week I’ll have something up on YouthMinBlog but this week I’m looking forward to gaining insight from the other writers on how to keep in touch with students once they graduate. Check it out starting Monday!
Anyway, here’s what I’m working on for this week:
Birds of a feather
If you’re not collaborating with other youthworkers in your area, you are missing out!
Why I don’t offer full scholarships to students for youth events
An idea for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or anytime you’re hoping to connect with parents
Staying the course
A story from our Rec program about investing in students lives for the long haul – even when it may seem like it’s not making a measurable difference.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

ok, I can’t take credit for this gem. We have a GREAT games leader.

Have all the students stand in a designated area (probably the center of the room) and put their blindfolds on. While the music plays, the leaders put chairs all over the room. When the music stops, all players try to find a chair. At the end of each round, players go back to the designated area and leaders move the chairs around again.
Enjoy!

Your dreams are God’s way of whispering into your soul, There’s more to you than you know. There’s more available to you than you can imagine. There’s an extraordinary life awaiting you if you would trust in me.
But the question is, what can you see? Are you living a nightmare or lost in a fantasy because you’re afraid there’s nothing meaningful inside you? Are you paralyzed because you don’t really believe God made you extraordinary and has planned for you a future worth getting up for?
Can you see who God has made you to become?

I think one of the other leaders may have gotten better footage of this but I haven’t gotten my hands on it so this will have to do. This is from the last night of Rec at the school. We thanked Marge for all of her awesomeness by crowning her queen of the school. She rocks!
